Emma Worrall – Your cockerel nearly drove me to insanity with it’s early
morning crowing but it was worth it because the rest was fantastic :-)
Tom Worrall – Despite being woken up a few times early in the morning,
this
was an excellent trip and we were taken care of really well. Near some
great
sites for ace trips out, this was a great holiday.
Richard and Nicky Worrall – We have had a very relaxing week
here & have very much appreciated your warm hospitality. Thank you!
19/04/07
Stearn Family – Very Friendly welcome to a spacious and well equipped cottage. Thank you!
23/04/07
The ‘Paddocks’ – A short but enjoyable stay really impressed with facilities for Harry & fantastic standard of accommodation – well done. P.s. Can you get your cockerel to sleep in on a Sunday! Gran was really worried about the water she spilled on the floor. “ I don’t know how it happened” – but it was just the shine.
04/05/07
Jim and Andrea – Fantastic week. Beautiful Cottage, excellent location, great hospitality, we were very pleased the chickens and cockerel survived the attention of our 2 Jack Russells.

Dorothy & Anita Staples – Excellent Cottage and Location, Very well
equipped

short drive. The walk through comfort wood is nice for an evening stroll.

Couchmans – Aldershot, Hants. What a lovely place and lovely people that
made us feel very welcome. Pity the rain didn’t allow us to try any of
the
walks to Cotehele, but despite the weather we had a great time.
For those of you staying here that will also eat out we can
firstly recommend ‘The Weary Friar’ in Pillaton, An extensive menu – but
you
will need to book. Or you can try the Who’d have thought it inn in St
Dominic. Not as much choice but the food is still fantastic & wonderful
views. Also need to book, the number is in the booklet on places to eat
in
the valley. Thanks for the stay the Couchmans.

Teather Family – Weather fair to appalling but enjoyed our holiday. Best Garden - The garden house, best attraction – Cotehele. Kind regards to Kate and Andrew.
13/07/07
The Fitzgeralds – Weather not great but everything else excellent. The house is beautiful and fantastic hospitality from Kate & Andrew. Overall a wonderful holiday.
20-27/07/07
The Stretton Family – Fabulous cottage very comfortable & catering for everything needed. Lovely walk through comfort & elbow woods to Cotehele and through lanes to the village. Andrew and Kate are friendly and helpful, (still get the giggles when remembering Andrew directing us to Waitrose when we asked about the local spa’s (he thought we meant spar’s.) NB St Mellion is good for a pampering session, pool facilities and sports hall. Cycling from Okehampton to Lydford gorge was a good day out too. 10 pin bowling on awful days.
27/07-03/08/07
The Oonk Family
The Netherlands – We loved your hospitality and your boots made it possible to see the beauty of Cornwall. One week is too short to visit all the sights, so we expect to come back. Thank you Andrew & Kate!!

The Keith’s, London – Perfect place for families! Well equipped cottage, we loved the beds and very friendly hosts.
1/09/07
The Plowman Family (Sussex) – Wow we were so lucky – The day we arrived the sun came out and it stayed almost until we went home. Lovely cottage – I don’t think I need to mention the beds. Many thanks to Kate and Andrew – you have a wonderful place. Must see weir down the lane, Kit Hill, Cotehele. Recommend horse riding at Mary Tavy and Rock climbing, (Absailing with spirit of adventure in Dartmoor National Park) we will be back- Happy holidays.

The Martins – a most restful week – in a peaceful place – lovely accommodation with a warm welcome- so much to see and do – we’ll be back again. Thank you!
20/09/07
The Scott Family – We all had a really relaxing time. The cottage is superb. But would of loved to have seen “BEFORE” as it is hard to imagine this building as being ‘derelict’. Enjoyed watching the bats at dusk, and was not disturbed at all by the cockerel. A MUST is a visit to the lost gardens at Heligan. Thank you
21/09/07
The Rayner Family (Bucks). What a beautiful conversion and extremely friendly hosts! We have had a fantastic stay, the property is spacious, clean, and everything we could have needed has been provided, (even for small people). Eden project was fantastic!
28/09/07
SouthPort – Merseyside. Absolutely beautiful cottage, walks were excellent – especially by the Quay, the Calstock Arms for the best fish and chips. Polperro worth a visit for dinner. If you’ve got children n, check out the bathroom cupboard, we borrowed the baby carrier and it enabled us to go on lots of walks, take Andrews advice local walks = excellent. P.S Being woken up by the cock was delightful. Thanks for a great holiday. X
12/10/07
The Sumbland family – A fantastic week in a lovely cottage – everything you could ask for to get away form it all. Blessed with mid-summer like weather almost in mid-October. So much to do and see you just have to come back. Just like the book on the coffee table, we’re all wild about Cornwall. P.s Shame Andrew bottled out of the cross-country run though maybe next time:-).
10/07
The Armani Family E.Sussex – we’ve had a lovely week at this beautiful cottage, not least due to the friendliness of our hosts boys included. Many Thanks xxx
28/10/07
The Shepard families x2. The cottage proved to be ideal – well equipped + comfortable. The weather was kind to us and as “townies” we particularly enjoyed the chance to be outdoors and to walk in such a lovely area. Too many attractions to see in 1 week means that further visits to Cornwall are likely
11/07
The Mcgonigals – Thank you very much. This was perfect!
Christmas 07
Tatman/Miller/Ashbury group – We had a lovely week here at Christmas. Kate and Andrew were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed trips to morwhellam, Tintagel, Polperro and Cotehele and we will definitely be returning in future. Many Thanks.
22/02/08
The Winchester Family – Lovely place, everyone is really friendly (even the animals) I really want to come back. We will all miss everything about this place! One other thing…I would like to add that I enjoyed every second :-) Mandy Winchester.
28/03-4/04/08
Vicki & Alan - Surrey Pam & Chris – Wiltshire – Glorious countryside, excellent hosts, lovely, well equipped cottage. Good food at the Rifle volunteer at St Ann’s Chapel; Cotehele, Lanhydrock, Edgecombe manor, Eden Project, Tamar and Tavy Estuaries all worth a visit. Fowey is lovely, also the lost gardens of Helgan.
11/04/08
Beth – Really enjoyed staying here. Was nice to have all the animals
around
– the pigs and chickens were really cute. Whitsand bay, Looe and
Tavistock
were nice and canoeing was good fun. Thank You.
Marcus – I liked the house. It was pretty and I had a big bed and there
were
pigs and I went canoeing. I like pigs but I think I prefer chickens.
Mark Wavell – Great walks in the woods.
Anne – Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed all the experience. Good luck
for
the future. Anne
25/04/08
Brichton Family – We all had a wonderful stay. Very comfortable cottage, lovely place from which to explore this part of Cornwall & Devon. Go to Cotehele (Mill & Quay). Lanhydrock, Fowey and eat at the “Who’d have thought it in” both at St Dominic & Milton Combe! The Children loved rounding up the sheep, feeding the pigs and patting the horses.
26/05/08
Mamta, Kunal, Rakz, Shak, Amit, Niru London, - Lovely space and very comfortable cottage. It was great to spend a few days here with friends. The drives and walks surrounding the cottage have been such a change from the crowdy, noisy, London. Thanks to the hosts for being so helpful in all ways we look forward to coming back. :-)
20/06/08
The Rott family – Excellent location especially for dog walking. Lucky weather made for great trips to surrounding countryside and beaches. Very helpful hosts. Many thanks
14/07/08
Fovvler family – Everything has really already been said. Exquisite
restoration of the property, wonderful location and owners who have a
really
gift for making you feel at home. The arrival of the new foal during our
stay was a real bonus.
Food and attractions are hugely subjective but here are a few of our
high
(and low) lights.
* Fowey is beautiful – try to have lunch at the ‘Lugger’ pub
* Tintagel & Padstow were both interesting and nice to walk around –
lunch at the English Heritage Café by Tintagel Castle was excellent.
* Gunnislake to Plymouth Train ride not good. Track very overgrown
obscuring most of the views
* For Golfers, St Mellion is expensive and a bit of a mess while
alterations are being made. Tavistock G.C is a real joy.
* Local eateries, ‘The Who’d Have Though It’ at St Dominic is ok but
we preferred the ‘Carpenters’ in lower Metherall
1/08/-08/08/08
The Coopers
Hove/Southwick Sussex – Beautiful location, lovely welcome and the home
made
cake was fantastic. The Brown’s really looked after us and made us feel
very
welcome. The concert on the Saturday was a bonus even though it rained.
The
rain (all week) did not put us off having a great time. Would recommend
the
walk to Cotehele and the ‘Carpenters Arms’ would definitely come back.
Chloe Cooper – The cottage is in a lovely location with the lovely farm
and
all it’s animals. The horses were gorgeous especially the new foal. The
owners were very welcoming and gave us a lovely surprise which was a
cake.
Even though it rained most of the week it didn’t stop us having an
adventure. I would definitely recommend the walk to Cotehele. I would
also
recommend a trip to Newquay, It is a lovely place for kids to enjoy.
Carpenter’s Arms was lovely and the service was great. I am sad that we
are
leaving. I would definitely come again. P.S. I think that you should get
some peacocks and a cat the farm doesn’t seem right without a cat. But
still
the cottage and farm are fabulous. :-)
08/08-15/08/08
Carpenters/Tock – A lovely warm appreciated welcome. Cottage was lovely , clean and situated in such a lovely spot. For eating out we would recommend the Carpenters Arms (Metherall). Children liked the animals, especially the chicks. Days out at Looe, Polperro, Eden Project, Newquay. Weather allowing take a walk through woods. Thank you.
15/08-22/08/08
Inwoods & Watts & Maggie Wonderful place to recharge the batteries. Woods walk brilliant – rural bliss. Many thanks to Kate and Andrew for kind care and attention.
5/09/08
The Neale family – Thank you for an excellent week. Appreciated the kindness shown by the Brown family to our grandchildren who enjoyed the animals. For those of Stout heart and strong boots try the Lydford Gorge 2 hour walk – very spectacular.
19/09/08
Bailey Family – if you read the comments at the start of your holiday you will see how consistently good they are and they are deserved. Terrific accommodation, an idyllic spot and the most welcoming of hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
27/09-04/10/08
The Phillips – we all loved it – one of the best places we have stayed in (after 25 years of collages!) good walks and well situated for almost everything else. Think we will be back. Thank you.
